Close to 25,000 Lost Power in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Powerful Storms
Nearly twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland woke up experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms swept through the region, generating wind gusts reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Broad Impact
Locals reported large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Utility workers were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams deployed to address the widespread outages.
Southern State's Weather Woes
At the same time, around 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also experienced power outages after the capital city recorded its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams responded to nearly 600 requests for assistance across the state, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coast.
Tomorrow was forecast to be the most rainy day, with continued severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both states.
Health Warning
Public health experts alerted that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the area.
